Sandy, I just got your message and this is all that I have verbatim from a book that I have: In his book OUR CLABAUGH FAMILY, Charles Wesley Clabaugh, who obtained his information from family records furnished by Joseph W. Clabaugh of Dekalb, Illinois mentions that a William Clabaugh and wife and nine sons and three daughters lived in Frederick County, Maryland before the Revolutionary War, and that their youngest son William was bor 22 Nov. 1783. Mr. Clabaugh speculates that another son may have been Nicholas Clabaugh, who was born before 1765, married Rebecca Dickey in 1785 in Rockingham County, Virginia and died after 1820 in Ohio. If Nicholas was a son of William, it would indicate that William moved his large family to Virginia at the close of the war. That I took directly from the book and is all of the info that I have on that line. My info concerns the southern branch of Gatlinburg, Tn. you might try to locate this Joseph W. Clabaugh of Dekalb, Ill. and he may have more to help you. Sorry that I could not have been more help to you. Phillip
