The specifics you asked for I am sorry to say, I do not know. John Claybaugh sr. was an orphan. Other birthdays are unknown. I haven't gotten an oportunity to look at any census. But Champion was his wife's maiden name and as far as I know, it has never been spelled different. I have never heard of an art school, but in my research, I will look and tell you of any findings.
