I just received an E-mail from Jim Wasmuth today.I'll answer you each separately.Do you know each other?
John Hackett, who survived the civil war married Caroline Ebersole. They had a son Charles Luther Hackett (1863-1918). Charles married Evelyn "Eva" Wasmuth (1868-1958) on September 5, 1888. (By the way, John Hackett, William Hackett and Augustus Wasmuth were friends and all enlisted on December 13, 1861.William was killed in action on May 16, 1863) So John and Augustus kids married each other.
The children of Charles and "Eva" were (1) Unknown Hackett Born 1888, (2) Ruth Hackett-born and died in 1890, (3) Paul Thomas Hackett - 1891-1967, (4) Arthur B. Hackett - born and died in 1893, (5) Margaret Hackett - 1894-1937.
Of the previous paragraph, the only marriage I have written down is Margaret Hackett married Ralph Lydecker Fulton on September 25, 1926 either in Kokomo or Ft. Wayne Indiana.
If you go to http://hometown.aol.com/union47th/47th_E.htmlhttp://hometown.aol.com/union47th/47th_E.html It gives a list of all the soldiers.Augustus Wasmuth is noted as from Roanoke, and discharged May 11, 1862 with a disability.I have no pictures of any Wasmuth's.I don't have a web page yet, but I e-mailed a picture of 4 generations of Hacketts to someone else and the picture is located on the "VanArsdol" or "VanArsdale" section in Rootsweb. It pictures Thomas, John, Charles, and Paul (as a baby) (of course, Paul is 1/2 Wasmuth)Hope this helps.
