Alexander Nicholas Hudson married over 400 colored couples after Emancipation

His obituary says he enlisted in New York in 1862.
I'm trying to find the plantation where he served, where was he injured? I came across this in Find a grave. A. N. Hudson obituary attached to Find a grave posting in Oakwood Cemetery, Kent County(?) Michigan or Ionia County...
Not my ancestor but possible treasure trove for the descendants of those A N married.
