Dick Taylor (Major General Richard Taylor) controlled all troops in Louisiana after the fall of Vicksburg. This included an Infantry Div., several Cavalry Regs., and at least one artillery battery from Texas. He was in overall command at Pleasant Hill / Mansfield, in April of 1864 when he drove the Union forces all the way back to New Orleans. I would look at the Texas 1st Cav Reg., Texas 2nd Cav Reg., Arizona Bgd., Texas 2nd Cav. Reg., Partisan Rangers, Texas 3rd Cav Reg, Arizona Bgd, and Texas 4th Cav., Reg. all at Mansfield.
