The info you seek is probably not available. I looked at www.civilwardata.com and they list 11 "Alcock" in the entire army. Only one of those even shows a residence, none show birthplace.

As for "pinnell", 31 records(1 was african-american) 10 show residence. I looked at the sole Pinnell from a border state, and his birthplace is not given.

The tracking info you seek simply was not recorded by the enlisting officers. Info on parents and siblings was also not recorded.
