It has been several days since your post, with no reponse, which doesn't surprise me. MO is always one of the toughest states to find info.

I did find a brief record of Peter Low serving the US MO 1st State militia cavalry. Of more importance,there are a number of action reports from the officers of the unit. You can go to www.civilwardata.com (costs you ten bucks for a peek) go to personnel and enter low, peter, MO. Click on the unit title in his record, that will take you to options on the left column. Click on unit history to view or print the reports. Very interesting reading of skirmishes with bushwhackers.
