Not related but found something. Don't know if this is who you're looking for but an Elias T Turner was taken prisioner on 10 May 1862 while at Murfreesboro and taken to Petersburg, VA. He was a Pvt with Co K of the 41st Alabama. By July 31 of that year he was home in Fayette County. In Jan 1863 he was captured and is listed on the rolls of prisioners for Camp Morton in Indianapolis Ind. Another record says he was captured at Stone River and by June 1864 was in Richmond Virginia via Nashville. July of 1864 he is at a hospital in Petersburgh VA with an injury to his right thigh. He had $12 dollars when he died but the record does not give a date.
Ok finally found it, so sad just like the storyof my ancestor, never made it home. He died 7 Aug 1864, looks like in Richmond at General hospital number 9.. I think his brother W. F Turner was also in the regiment.
