I am delighted you posted the cursive "interpretation" of David/Daniel as you did! I have a terrible time trying to convince people that they need to look at each letter, or stroke, independently, in order to interpret names!

There is one marriage record transcription posted on LDS site as "Mary Thing".... I would bet money that it should be "King"! The old script "K" with the extra "swirls and curls" could be interpreted as "Th"; however I have never heard of anyone with the family name "Thing." Too bad we can't view all those originals to see the handwriting.

Everyone needs to take a course in tnterpreting old handwriting!
