Hello Alice
I expected that because many would have searched for grave sites for either family or local history there would have lots of good suggestions come up.
Currently I am working on two for local history. If an 1890s news report is correct one was moved from Richmond to far eastern Maine. He was just a privatefrom a farming family-no record found as yet to confirm that. The other is "in progress".The Widow's file is a bit too expensive for local history research but I didn't expect the burial place to show up more than very infrequently in that record-Thank You!
Can you shed any light on this:
From early in the war there was supposd to have been a
"Death-and-Burial" record for any man that died in the field or at a hospital that could be identified. It was supposed to have been an individual record for each man done in triplicate with one copy going to the
Adjutant General's office.
Thanks!
