Need help reading/understanding
I found a copy of a list of Confederate Pension applications and my great great grandmother is listed seeking a pension as a widow. It lists a number by both her name and his.
William James Marchbanks29789 and that he had lived in Harris County, Texas. And Sarah Margaret Marchbanks for her 50554 Jefferson County, Texas. I know these are the correct locations.
Is there some way to get a copy of these records? I don't even know for sure that he fought in the Civil War, but I guess he must have if he was seeking a pension. He was probably in Mississippi at the time of the war, but may have been in Alabama. I did a quick search of Civil War records and can't find his name.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
