ARRIVAL of TROOPS - 3 companies attached to the 2d Infantry, California Volunteers, arrived in this city yesterday, en route to Fort Miller, from which place they will proceed, if required, to Visalia. They consist of Co. A., Lieut. SHEPPARD commanding; Co. B, Capt. SCHMIDT and Co. G, Lieut. HAHN commanding. They are in charge of Captain SCHMIDT, in the absence of Lieut.-Col. ADLEN, who is expected to join the battalion today. The companies proceeded to Camp Stanford where they are temporarily quartered. They are accompanied by 3 Government wagons for the transportation of commissary stores and company property. The companies number in rank and file about 160 men.
