Moses Rogers enlisted as a Private on July 9,1861 in Company "I" 4th Regiment* Louisiana Infantry at Camp Meofus or Neofus (sp?). Enlisted by Captain Hillard for 1 year service.
Other records in this file state enlistment on May 25,1861 at Camp Moore by Lt. Phillips. Captured near Franklin Tn. on December 17,1864.
Name on a list of Prisoners of war at Nashville Tn on Dec 18,1864. Name on a list of Prisoners at Military prison at Louisville, KY on Dec 20,1864. Transferred to Camp Douglas, Illinois on Dec 20,1864.Arriving ther Dec 22,1864. Name appears on a list of POW of Camp Douglas who were discharged by order on June 12,1865.
His Oath of Allegiance gives the following personal data:
residence Clinton Louisiana,Fair Complexion,Dark Hair,Black eyes,5 foot 10 inches tall
Under remarks it has: Buyasarra Louisiana
* This company subsequently became Company "G" 4th Regiment Louisiana Infantry
