If you go to the "Official Records" of the Civil War, which are available online, you can read the details of the court martial, including the specific charges, how he plead to the charges, and the findings of the court. There are several pages in the ORs devoted to the court martial and followup correspondence. Pretty interesting reading.

Just do a search on the name Thomas W. Knox in the ORs.
