You'll see that this unit drew its men from the Nashville area and surrounding counties. Company C appears to have been recruited from Dickson Co. That gives you a clue as to where he might have been living in 1860.
Your post really kinda leaves me scratching my head. What exactly do you mean by "...was pardoned after that nothing has been found of him other than he lived."? Do you mean that he survived the war but you can't find any other record of him? Do you have copies of his military service record? Have you searched for him in census records? Have you checked to see whether or not he or his widow applied for a pension record? Is all of your knowledge of him simply something that has been passed down through the generations? Are you now trying to document the connection? Just wondering.
