It is a bit difficult to try to track these brothers without a middle initial, and it will likely require checking other spellings of the surname.For instance, you state that Solomon and David both served the Confederacy.I find no S. or Solomon Russel in any TX unit, I find no D. or David Russel in a TX unit.
However, under Russell, I find S. with middle initials b,e,h,l,m, and t.As for D. Russell, I find D.A., D.C. & D.F., a David, a David H and a David W.
I do find a Thomas B. Russel, also three Russels with the initials T.Similar contacts on William and C.Russel, but many more with the spelling "Russell".
Many couldn't spell their own names, so how can it be expected that a company clerk could do better?If you can come up with their middle initials, possibly some connection might be made if they served in the same unit.Hope you can provide more.
