Jas. Cadmus, residence not listed, enlisted on 8-5-62 as a private. He was mustered in on 8-25-62 in Company F, NJ 13th Infantry.Mustering out was at Washington, DC on 6-8-65.
Abaham H. enlisted on 7-19-62, and mustered in on 8-25-62 into G company, 13th NJ inf.He mustered out the same date and location as James. He was promoted to 1st SGt. on 2-13-65, and to 2nd Lt on 6-1-65, although he was never mustered into this rank.
Martin V. Bennett was in company E of the NJ 26th Infantry. A private, he enlisted 9-4-62 and mustered 9-18-62.Mustering out was in Newark, NJ on 6-27-63.
Notes: there was a James Harvey Cadmus in the NJ 26th.
Also, an Abraham H. Cadmus had service in a different unit;the dates preceed that of the 13th NJ, so it might be the same man.
There are 30 "Cadmus" listed for NJ; you might want to look at the others as possible relatives.I used www.civilwardata.com.It would only cost you 10 bucks to try it, and there is a wealth of info about the units.
