Records for the Fort Smith, AR Union Soldiers
I am searching for the son of Franklin S. Cameron. He would have been stationed at the Ft. Smith, Arkansas Union establishment. We think he was in the battle at Pea Ridge and was wounded. He and his comraids were trying to get back to Ft. Smith when he died north of Ozark and was buried in the woods off the old road comming from Fayetteville to Ozark.
In information of that battle, the Confederates were heading south towards Ft. Smith and we believe this son and his companions were trying to get to Ft. Smith ahead of them. We know this son was an officer in the Union Army.
I would appreciate any information! Thanks,
Lee Carr
