My great-grandmother, Stefania Cichocka, came to NY from Bialystok, Poland probably around the turn of the century. In order to stay here, she married my great-grandfather, Anthony Modzelewski and they settled in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY. Anthony had 5 children from a previous marriage:Leo,Mary,John,Joseph and Steve. He and Stefania had five more: Jean,Al,Ed,Larry and Helen(my grandmother). Stefania died young from cancer, when my grandmother was 9 (grandma was born 1931.) I have no info on any of Stefania's siblings, but I know her father was a town sherriff in Poland.
