I am looking for anyone who has any infromation onthe Ciagala Family. From the information my Grandmother (Zophia Piwczikova) told my Father. I had a GG Grandfather named Jan Ciagala b abt 1844 in Plawy Poland who married someone names Mary b abt ?1827? who was from Bzianka, Poland. The only child (they probably had more) that I am aware of that they had was my G Grandmother Sophia Ciagala who was born abt 6 Jan 1872 in Plawy, Poland & married Jan Micheal Piwczyk, b abt 1869 in Harmeze, Poland. Sophia & Jan had a number of children, but I only know my grandmother Zophia Maria Piwczykowa b abt 9 May 1908 in Harmeze (the date may be wrong because my grandparents may have lied about there age to come to the USA). Zophia Piwczykova married Wladyslaw Antoni Firkowski b abt 18 Sep 1906 in Inowroclaw, Poland. Zophia had a sister who had come to the USA also, but I do not know her name. Zophia's sister married someone with the surname ?Cempel,Sempel, or Stemple? and they had at least 1 child named Jerry. Sophias sisters family lived in or near Chicago, Illinois. Now back to Sophia Ciagala.........I know that in her final years she either lived with or was looked after by the Lekacz Family probably in Harmeze, Poland. Franciszka Lekacz is the woman. I have an old letter and 2 photos. I look forward to hearing from anyone about the Ciagala Family.
