A Richard B Chute arrived in USA in 1913 at
the age of 25. Check out the Ellis Island records which will tell you where he sailed from and what ship. My Mother was a Chute and the Chutes in Liverpool England go back to at least 1857. There is also a connection with India as a Chute served there in the forces and married a High Caste Indian woman who was sent home to Ireland to have her first child, the woman died in childbirth but the baby lived. Maybe the `Burpee' name is Indian.
