Hi,
I saw your post on the Churchwell list and thought I'd write because all ofthose people living in thathousehold are my relatives.
RobertChurchwell's age hasbeencopied as 80 years old, he actually was 30 years old.Heactually at that time was an Uncle, but hiswife diedand so did the father of the King daughters livingwith themand soMrs King the sister ofChurchwell's wifemarried Robert and they had some kids together showing in the 1870 census.By that marriage he becameastepg g g g grandfather.
I have been looking for Robertin earlier census's but havenot been able to go backwards. If you have anyinformation on this family or if you know anyone who does i would love to receive ane-mail.

MY RESPONSE:
Hi,
I wish I could be of assistance but I have not yet found any Churchwell's connected to my lines. When I came across the 1860 SHELBY COUNTY TENNESSEE CENSUS, I noticed that several households included children with different surnames.I posted these in hopes it might be helpful.
Have you run general searches on RootWeb WorldConnect?I like to use the web trees for clues.I try various combinations, sometimes just a first name for one spouse and last of the other.

I will keep your Churchwell's in mind during my searches.
