I too descend from Ensign Samuel Churchill through his son Benjamin. On page 474 in the CFA book is the following reference: James H. adds that his uncle, Elijah Lyman Churchill, "lives in Middlefield on the old homestead, aged sixty-six years," and a letter from Elijah L. himself, March 23, 1885, gives the names of his grandfather and father, but nothing more, and he does not say whether he is married or not.
Hope this helps. Also Martha Boardman, wife of Ensign Samuel, has a most interesting ancesty. If you are interested, I have some information on that family.
