I've done a quick search for your Ann, with no results but possibly some information that might be useful. First off, the standard genealogy of the three northern Churchill families (Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Manhattan) has no relevant Torreys. This is often a quick route to a married Churchill daughter with a first name so common that a direct search for her is difficult. Chittenden County is in northern Vermont. There also is the town of Chittenden, which is north of Rutland, much farther south. There were four Connecticut Churchill families who settled in Fairfax and Georgia just north of Chittenden County at around the time of Ann's birth, but none have a daughter Ann (there was one Diana who married someone else). Three of the four families had departed by the time Ann married in 1821, and the children in the remaining family are well documented. Also, the Connecticut Churchills who settled in Michigan are not connected with the Lansing area, where Dimondale in Eaton County is. As far as I know, there were no members of the other two northern Churchill families that settled in the Fairfax/Georgia/Chittenden County area. There sometimes were stray Churchills who migrated to Canada and moved south, and this seems the most likely possibility. If you should ever have reason to think that Ann's birth place was in the town of Chittenden rather than Chittenden County, this might suggest a Massachusetts Churchill family. There were many Connecticut Churchill families centered on Hubbardton, north and west of Rutland and due west of Chittenden, and besides not being associated with Chittenden, they tended not to move to Michigan when they moved west. However, there was a Massachusetts Churchill family that settled east of Hubbardton, and I don't know enough about them to know if they might fit. I hope this will be of some help.
