Another piece of information which has come up is that Jerusha Churchill Wilkins' father was a seaman, and that he married an "American Lady of Boston" named Betsy Foster....
Was Nathaniel a seaman? I am wondering if the name Foster might has been mistranscribed as this was taken from a written family record. I have not seen the record, just the transcription. The birth year for your Jerusha and ours is the same. Also found in one descendent line , that Jerusha was also called "Josie".
