Lindsey,

I found more census records for you.

1889 TERRITORIAL CENSUS WASHINGTON - THURSTON CO.
CHURCHILL
William age 52, farmer born OH

Elizabeth, age 50 born OH

William age 26 , farmer born IL

George age 18 born IA

Charlie age 12 born NE

1892 TERRITORIAL CENSUS WASHINGTON - THRUSTON CO.
CHURCHILL
William Sr. age 55 born OH

Elizabeth age 50 born OH

William F. age 30, mill sawyer born IL

Alice, age 21, born England

George age 22, born IA

Charles age 15 born NE

So looks like Alice is the wife of William as in later census that I gave you.

I don't know where William and Alice were in 1900. I found a possible for Wm. He is listed on same page as George and Mary in Bucoda, Thurston

CHURCHILL
William, boarder horse trader age 38, born Feb. 1862 IL both parents born OH. He is shown as married

1910 TENINO, THRUSTON, WA
CHURCHILL
William (indexed as Walson) age 48, sawyer, sawmill, married 20 years, born Il parents birthplaces unknown

Nellie, wife age 39 born England father born Scotland mother born England married 20 years 4 children born 4 living immigrated 1880

Barbra, daughter age 18 born WA father born IL motfher born England

Gladstone, son age 11 born WA father born IL mother born England

Lillian, daughter, age 10 born WA father born IL mother born England

George, son age 5, born WA father born IL mother born England

** it is odd that William would be listed as a horse trader in one census when in other he is a sawyer at mills. This makes me wonder if the 1900 William is he, but he is on same page as brother George. Where are his wife and kids though? I suppose his wife could have taken the kids to visit family somewhere, but I tried to find them anywhere in U.S. with no luck.

I looked to see if there was an Alice in the 1889 Territorial census for Thurston - born about 1871 England and there is only one listed.
Alice Elders, age 18, born England. She is on her own.

1887 THRUSTON, WASHINGTON TERRITORIAL CENSUS
ELDORS
Thomas age 57, farmer born England

Jane, age 54, born England

William age 18 born England

Alice, age 16 born England

I thought I would look to see if I could find the family in England as that is where they were all born.

1871 GREAT AYTON, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND - AYTON HALL FARM
ELDERS
Thomas age 40, farmer of 100 acres, employs 1 man, born Durham-Elwick Hall

Jane, wife age 37, born York-Leamen(Leamer)

Mary I. daughter age 6 scholar born York-Great Ayton

William, son age 2, born York- Great Ayton

Alice, daughter, age 2,5,or 6 months -hard to read, born York-Great Ayton

1861 GREAT AYTON, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND - Tree Bridge Farm
ELDERS
Thomas age 30, farmer of 94 acres, employs 1 man, born Durham,Elwick Hall

Jane, farmer's wife, age 26, born Yorkshire-Leamer (Seamer)

Anne, farmer's daughter, age 1, born Yorkshire, Great Ayton

1841 ELWICK HALL, DURHAM, ENGLAND - AMERSTON HILL
ELDERS
William age 45, woodman, born in this County

Ann age 40 born in this County

Jane age 15 born in this County

Mary, age 13 born in this County

Thomas age 11, born in this County

I tried to find a marriage for Thomas to see Jane's surname. I found Thomas Elders married April/May?june quarter in Stokesley, Yorkshire 1857

I then found 3 possible Jane's
Jane Nellist, Jane Bingham and Jane Merrington - all married same quarter, year and place

I'm going with Nellist as I found a Jane Elders born Jan 1834 in 1800 census for Roy, Pierce Co. WA. age 66, widow, 5 children born 4 living
She is living in home of her daughter Annie and husband and children, but there is a niece living with them named Florence Nellist born TX parents born England.

1900 ROY, PIERCE, WA
THOMPSON
Matthew, age 51 born Oct. 1848 England both parents born England, married 19 years, farmer immigrated 1880

Annie, wife age 41, born April 1859 England, married 19 years 7 children born 7 living, immigrated 1879

Mary Alice, daughter age 16 born Nov. 1882, housework, born TX

John William son age 13 born Aug. 1886, farm laborer born WA

Martha Annie, daughter age 11, born Oct. 1888, housework, born WA

Rupert S. son age 9, born Dec. 1891, at school born WA

Ruby E. daughter age 9 born Dec. 1891, at school, born WA
** for the twins it is lightly written over with an 8 for age

Matthew E. son age 6 born Sept. 1893 at school, born WA

Olive Jane, daughter, age 4, born Dec. 1895 WA

all of the children show both parents born England
in same house
NELLIST
Florence, niece, age 13, born July 1886, housework, born TX both parents born England

ELDERS
Jane, other, age 66, widow, born Jan. 1834 England both parents born England, farmer, 5 children born 4 living, immigrated 1879

** Annie is in 1861 census with family but not in 1871 which is odd. As Florence was born TX I thought I would look for the Elders there in 1880 as I did not find them in WA for that year.

I found them but it is more confusing as they have more children unaccounted for in the England census records.

1880 PRECINCT 2, WHARTON TX
ELDERS
Thomas, farmer age 50 born England

Josey (as in index -actual page could be Josey or Janey) wife, age 45 keeping house born England

Annie, daughter, age 21, at home born England

John son age 21, farmer, born England

Mary, daughter age 17 at home, born England

Everline(Emereline) daughter age 14, at home born England

Alice, daughter age 10, at home, born England
in same house
NOLLISH
Robert, nephew, age 22, boarder born England

SAYERS
Jonathan, nephew age 14, boarder born England

Jane, niece, age 10 boarder born England
** all of the above show both parents born England

** I am wondering if Emerline is really William and should be listed as a male, not female?? That still leaves John who is not in either of the England census 1861 or 1871 with the rest of the family, and where is Annie in 1871 - she is there in 1861

I did find a John Elders age 11 in 1871 census living in Durham County with Pearson family he is listed as a boarder - so it is possible he is son of Jane and Thomas.
I also found an Annie Elders, age 11, living in Ackworth, Yorkshire, at the District Friends School - show born Ayton, Yorkshire so this is likely the right Annie.
