I guess the only conclusion we're left with is that sometime between 1805 and 1809 Asahel divorced Eunice, married Elizabeth, and moved to Jefferson County, though not necessarily in that order. The puzzle is that "Churchill Family in America" has a death date for Eunice but didn't know that Asahel took a second wife. It would appear that the descendants who filled out the questionnaire for "Churchill Family in America" didn't accept the second marriage even though it was of thirty years' duration.
