Kay, I'm glad my digging was so useful.

I was puzzled by your reference in your second paragraph to the grandmother Lucy born in Vermont. I guess she was not a Churchill, in which case it doesn't matter. Sylvester's daughter Lucy would, of course, have been born in Ohio.

"Churchill Family in America" has, of course, details that pertain to your final paragraph. Sylvester practiced in Ohio, Texas, and Indiana. Although there is no date for when he resided in Texas, the usual pattern until the father gets old is the father moving with his family, with marriage-age children sometimes either staying behind or returning if the father moves again. Sylvester's fourth child, Lydia Ann, born January 8, 1843, was the one who married a Barrett in Texas, Joseph J. Barrett of Nolan, Texas. Although there is no date for her marriage, one can kind of guess at about when she might have married and surmise that Sylvester was probably in Texas before then.
