Sir Winston has some ancestors who founded both of the Colonies mentioned .He is a direct descendant of Richard Warren and this is well documented in his book THE GREAT REPUBLIC .I am a member and State Director of Mayflower .
Sir WSC is related to Gen. Douglas MacArthur and FDR via their common ancestor Sarah Barney Belcher .Jacob Barney was a member of The MBC and his descendant is Sarah Barney Belcher.She is the common ancestor of all 3 gentlemen named .The Winthrop Society is composed of members of MBC. Bradford, Brewster,Warren and Mullins as intermarriages.
There are some genealogists who have traced the Warren line to Charlemagne but this is contested by others .The Curch family of Rhode Island ia a family related to the Barneys. It is all quite a genealogical maze that i have heard of from youth .
