From the April, 1928 issue of American Rifleman magazine, an obituary for A. H. Churchill as follows: We have just received advice from England to the effect that Mr. A.H. Churchill is dead. Mr. Churchill was a young man, and his death came as a great surprise and loss to the small-bore railway shooters of Great Britain. Mr. Churchill had been largely responsible for the development on the other side of the Atlantic of the new International Railwaymen's competition, and plans had been made to present him with a suitably engraved medal presented by the railwaymen of America at the next open meeting at Southport, England in June. Mr. Churchill's letters always carried a message of good sportsmanship and splendid enthusiasm for the development of International Railwaymen's competitions. His loss is a real misfortune to this phase of rifle-shooting development in the United States and England.
