Hello,

Does anyone have information on the name CHURCHILL in Scotland? I am trying to find out more about a Captain Charles CHURCHILL who was stationed in Edinburgh in the mid 1700s. I believe he may be the father of my great, great grandmother, Elizabeth CHURCHILL who married Alexander ROBERTSON in Edinburgh in 1816. On her marriage record she is stated to be the daughter of Charles CHURCHILL of Exeter, however I have never been able to find appropriate records in Exeter. On a recent trip to Scotland I discovered this Captain Charles CHURCHILL residing in Edinburgh who I now believe may be her father. There may also be a sister, Charlotte CHURCHILL who married Finlay CAMPBELL in Edinburgh in 1817.

Any assistance with this family would be greatly appreciated.
