I am not sure how Caroline Brockway is related to the Spencer-Churchills, or even if she is. All I have to go on is this story and the last name of Caroline's mother. If the story is true, I think the very closest connection of Caroline to a Duke of Marlborough would be as a granddaughter - i.e. if Martha Churchill was the daughter of one (though this doesn't have to be the case for the story to be true). If this was the case,
George Spencer-Churchill
5th Duke of Marlborough
b.1766. Suc. 1817. d. 1840 , would seem a likely candidate for her father, given she was probably born around 1800. I have looked through some family trees of the Churchill family and can find no reference (though I haven't had much luck finding a complete family tree, all those I've found are sketchy). So if anyone knows any sources that might be helpful, PLEASE let me know!
Anthony.
