Hi Catherine Jones: looks like your looking in wrong state, wrong line> there is a plymouth Churchill line which starts with John/Hannah Pontus (1643). But, Josiah Churchill and Elizabeth Foote (who married in 1638) are the start of the "Connecticut" Churchills. This Ct. line started out in Wethersfield, branched out after about four generations into extreme western Mass. (Sheffield, Lennox) and finally moved into Vermont (abt 1785), next NY and onward as the other states opened up to settlers. Just log onto "Rootsweb.com", and connect to "worldconnect" and you will find enough info to keep going for months. In addition to the CFA book, which is predominately the book on the Plymouth Churchills, Malcolm H. Churchill has published a more recent book ""The Connecticut Churchills and the Settling of America 1635-1900" which gives more of the history you are seeking. I have not checked your posting in detail but, on the surface, your info seems dead on. Let me know if I can help further. regards, dwc
