Cherokee Christy's

Dear Genealogy Researchers,
I am descended from two lines of Cherokees that migrated to Oklahoma...the Taylors and the Christy's (both on my fathers side). My great grandmother's name (on my father's mother's side) was Susie Lillian Christy Waller. Susie was orphaned as an infant and sent to an orphanage. She was later adopted (at about age 10) by Thomas Crutchfield (a US marshal) and his wife Kate. Susie later married George Waller (Thomas's deputy). Susie's mother was Nellie Christy and her father (I think) was John Hayes. Nothing is known about the parents except there names and the fact that they both died when Susie was an infant.

I just recently found Susie L. Waller's grandparents in the census of orphans from Saline County, OK. In the book the names of Susie's grandparents are Wa-Te Christy (GF) and Nancy Christy (GM). Also, in that family group is a Lewis Christy (perhaps Wa-Te's son). In the orphan book beside Susie Waller's name is a Thomas Henry (Christy? I am thinking Thomas Henry may be Susie's brother?)

I have two questions.

1)Does anyone have an information on any of the Christy individuals mentioned above?

2) Does anyone know if there is a connecton between the Oklahoma "Christy" family and the "Christie" family. (also Cherokee's from Oklahoma), and

Thanks in advance for any information

Regards,

Jeb Taylor
