I am a Metcalfe researcher and came across the following records. Since the Anglicized word for Youell is Christmas, could the Youells become the Christmas'? The Metcalfes also lived in York Co., VA. Has anyone heard of this possibility? Please contact me if you see a possible connection.

1640. MEDCALF, William and Thomas YEWELL, 220 acres, New Hog Pen Neck, Gov. Harvey Patent Records. (St. Mary's County Land Ownership: 1637-1800)
