You are most likely referring to John Jacob Christman, Jr., (or, Jacob Jr.) who was the second son of Jacob Christman and his wife, Barbara (Heckendorn) Christman. The elder Jacob remained a member of the GERMAN REFORMED church while his wife, Barbara H. remained a staunch Moravian. After leaving Pennsylvania, the couple and their first 7 children who were born in Pa. moved to Guilford Co., No. Carolina in what is now the Winston-Salem area. They had 8 more children while living in NC and their son John Jacob, Jr. became the Rev. Jacob Christman, a teacher and itinerant minister of the German Reformed Church. He married a girl named Maria Barbara and it is not known what her maiden name was. After his father's death in 1785, his mother removed to Pa. where she died and is buried in Lebanon, Lancaster Co., Pa. I have posted 2 follow-up letters to another enquirer named Stephen G. Christman, the subject being "Christman-North Carolina. I responded to his letter in more detail so, if you like, please find his post on the previous page and click on my responses.
