I am responding to your 1999 post - an old one and perhaps you have found your answer already.... but as I was going through the posts looking for some of my ancestors... these names caught my eye.

In my records the only connection I can find that has Jacob Christman, Elizabeth Christman and the name Broughton, is thus: Jacob Christman and Magdalena Hite had a son named Joseph who married Elizabeth Purtle February 16, 1752, Frederick Co., Va. Joseph died about 1762. In 1763 Joseph's widow, Elizabeth "Christman" married Jesse Boughton. In Jacob Christman's 1777 will he mentions his "daughter-in-law Elizabeth Broughton". Perhaps this will help or at the least eliminate one line?

Carolyn
