Salome was born Oct. 6, 1804 and was baptised May 26, 1805, in Longswamp Twp., Berks Cty. Her parents were John Christman and Catherine Wieand. Her grandparents were (John) George and Anna Catherine and her great grandparents were Jacob and Eva Margaret. Jacob came over on the Princess Augusta in 1736 and settled in Upper Milford Township, Northampton (now Lehigh) County near a place called Sigmund Furnace.
