Do you have a complete file put together yet? We could use some help, if you will share all of your findings.
I am posting this message on behalf of our cousins and myself. We need all the details you can give us, we have a cousin willing to go to the archives to look for the papers. He has already been searching for us and he has found a few things, such as Nathaniel Christian's Inventory for his property after he died. Actually Nathaniel did not have a Will and no mention was made of any children's names, or of anyone receiving any of his inventory, except his wife Jane Christian and she got everything.
At the bottom of the inventory page there are three signatures,
Jane Christian, Thomas Christian and Wm Boydston. That doesn't tell me the Thomas Christian that signed the paper was a child of Nathaniel.
Maybe this will set the story straight for some people, there was no Will!
Numerous people have told me about a Will, but no one had a copy of it. I had a need to see that for myself. We all do need to ask for proof on paper so no more mistakes will made and passed from one person to another. Someone giving the wrong information can attach us to a branch on someone else's tree.
Here are some questions the researcher (our cousin) has and he wanted me to post this and ask you for the answers to these questions.
If I go to Sumner Co. TN looking for the proof that Thomas B. Christian was raised by
Thomas Mastin "WHERE WOULD ONE LOOK"?
Where does James Red Wolf live?
I think that Thomas Mastin took in the orphans in 1777. Sumner Co came into play in 1786 from Davidson Co.
I think that Davidson Co came in to being in 1783 from Washington Co. NC ??????????
Red Wolf also said that the answers lie in the archives of VA "WHERE, WHERE, WHERE"?
I'll go there and look if he will tell me where to look.
We are not looking for something for nothing.
I'll go to Sumner Co, TN but I may come away empty handed.
So far I have found a lot on Thomas Mastin/Masten/Maston/Martin/Maftin and Agnes.
There is a Nancy Mastin in a couple of the tax tables with the same acres as Agnes.
Agnes does not appear in the tax tables that Nancy is in.
Could Agnes and Nancy be the same person????????????????????????
