Mr. Brigance-I have done quite a lot of looking at the neighbors that were in the Vacinity,of Halifax Co, William Downes Sr, These include a signee of a" Gill",as wittness, on one of the Land records that I Have; also I have connections with the "Mason "Families ( That find their roots back to thoses Masons that were in Halifax Co. 1790)--I have looked for Christenberrys -But will review what I have .--Anna Harper, ( Who I presume is the Anna who was also Issac Harpers Wife ) Is mentioned in her grandfathers will as his Son Johns dtr. and is listed as Anna Harper, (alond with several others -They may not have made the Migration from Va. to N.C.)This William Downes may have been a brother to the Henry Downes who wed Jane Douglas and lived mainly in Orange Co. 1750s (but his son,Henry Jr. is well know for having signed the Mechlenburg Declaration of Independence.) I will keep in touch --Thank You so very much for the Information which you sent. --Will get back to you soon. --L.Rinald
