Hi, Your Josiah CHRISMAN drove me crazy for a while as I am also looking for a Josiah CHRISMAN who came to CA (San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties) in the mid 1860's. Family folklore has my Josiah periodically going "down south" on ranch and farm trips.
I'm very new to this so don't have a lot of info. I did find some cnesus and probate records for your Josiah in Tulare Co. (1891). The death date was all I needed so I didn't actually look at it. But it may help with the sibling issue. I also came up with a slightly different birth date and palce, 6 Jun 1836? (or 8) in Arkansas. What may be the siblings coincides with my info and as being born in Virginia
I also found a William, also fought with Company B, as a private, and enlisted 3 Aug 1861 in Marion Co., Arkansas. I don't know if there is a relationship or not.
So, basically, I've been no to little help but I'm encouraging your efforts. If you cross paths with a Northern California Josiah CHRISMAN(from PA), please let me know.Good Luck.
