Hi,
I am the grandson of Martha (Skoviak) Chopp. Unfortunately, I don't really have any historical information on her family or the Chopp side. My grandfather (Michael Joseph Chopp) passed away while I was still very young, and my father (Michael Anton Chopp) passed away in 1996, before anyone thought to get information. Now that I have the desire to get information, I am running out of relatives to get it from!
My father moved from Painesdale to Milwaukee (don't know when) where he met my mother (Janice Goetzka). His parents (Martha, Michael J.), and his brother and sister (Jerry and Corrine) all lived in the Milwaukee area for many years as well. Gerald (Jerry) and Corrine are still alive and have moved back to Painesdale. Laverne (Curry) has passed away. She lived outside of Detroit.
My older brother and sisters (Jeff, Diane and Susan) still live in Black River Falls, WI. I moved away in 1979, and am now in Texas, and my younger brother Timothy is in Pennsylvania.
I think you have more information from my grandmother than I ever had, but I am going to contact my uncle Jerry to try to get some info.
