This might help some. There is a book titled: Carter-Gilmore and Allied Families. On page 105 of said book a copy of the the Power of Attorney, dated 2 October 1810, is transcribed. I can send you a copy if you would like.

My great Uncle John Benjamin Kirby (1902-1978), kept all of our family records. I was happy to recieve all of his surviving records from his daughter. He only worked on the Kirby's as I do so most of what I have would only be of interest to people researching their Kirby ancestors.
