Hi Michael...First let me say that I dealing with a Randolph Ramsey whom I have seen referred to by various people as James Randolph Ramsey who married Eliz Choate.Randolph Ramsey may not be James Ramsey, but as I see no James Ramsey in any census maaterial, I am assuming that my Randolph is indeed James Randolph Ramsey.
Now, my Ramsey filed packed away just now, but in 1850 Jackson, TN census there is a Randolph married to Elizabeth (Polly). He was born about 1800 and she was born about 1797.Next door to them is my Nero Kirkpatrick and wife Emaline (Ramsey). He was born about 1823 and she was born about 1822.
This Randolph Ramsey moved to Franklin, IL by 1860.My Nero Kirkpatrick left Jackson, TN in the mid to late 1850's and moved to Franklin, IL for a time before moving on to MO.
Children which I have for Randolph Ramsey and Eliz Polly (Chaote) are:Emiline born about 1821; John born about 1822; Wamon born about 1826; twins James and William born about 1832; Elizabeth born about 1835; Martha born about 1838; twins Ann and Sarah born about 1840.
As I said I'm not positive that Randolph Ramsey is the James Ramsey who married Eliz Choate, but I have always had in my file that Randolph married a Polly Choate (don't know just now where that came from but it is not something new).Secondly Emiline was married but living next door to Randoph Ramsey so it is likely that he was her father and also she and her husband moved to IL where Randolph had also moved to.
I have just recently started looking at the Choate line so it is new to me.Please let me know if the info that I have looks good. You may reply direct to me at [email protected] if you wish.Casey
