Chittenden Books Available

I just bought Alvan Talcott's book, "William Chittenden and his Descendants" 1882. I got it from Barnes & Noble online. It consists of photocopies of the pages from the old book and an index. Good hard binding.

I also have a book by Talcott, about 1888, which is easier to read. It is "Families of Early Guilford, Connecticut." Mine is a thick two volume paper back printed in 1997. The binding is quite poor and the pages start coming out right away. I got it from the same place a few months ago, but I think that they took it off due to the poor quality. It was still well worth the money. You could inquire over the phone as to whether or not they had any to sell.

You can see some of the Chittenden lines on the Fowler subpage of my main page below, as well as old photos. I am going to try to enter more of the lines as I have time.

John Wayland
(descended six different lines from the original William Chittenden immigrant).
