My grandfather was a Chittenden as well. His family is from Orwell, VT, and I see that your g-grandfather Henry R Chittenden, b. Aug 7, 1886, was born in Granville, NY which is about 20-25 miles south of Orwell. Next generation back for you appears to be George R Chittenden, b. abt 1816, living in Wells, Rutland, VT in 1870, and in Granville, NY in 1850.
My ancestor was Joseph Hart Chittenden 1792-1869, who lived in Orwell, VT. Perhaps our two lines connect back a few generations from that.
