Eileen:

I have been trying to get more information on the descendants of Thomas Chittenden, the first governor of Vermont. Only two descendant generations seem to be readily available. Death date of Thomas is August 25, 1797. His wife was Elizabeth Meigs, born October 16, 1732, and died October 14, 1817. They had married October 17, 1749, in Guilford, CT. Of several sons and daughters there was a Noah Chittenden, born October 26, 1753, in Salisbury, Litchford Co., CT. He died in 1834. He and Sally (Sallie?) Fassett, born in Granville, OH, had two children: Thomas Chittenden and Anna Chittdenden. Nothing is known of the vital stats of these two. Perhaps Anna is the one you are looking for. Perhaps someone else can fill us in on her. If the connection is valid for you, I will offer more about the Chittendens. Note that a brother of Noah, namely Martin, was the third governor of Vermont. There is, somewhere in my files, a reference to Chester, VT. If I can locate it, I will inform you of the persons and dates involved.
