John Gray vs. John Thomas Gray

Wife's line has John Gray b. KY, d. Izard Co, AR, m. Elizabeth Chism. Daughter in this line is Sarah (Sally) Gray b. 22 Sept 1817 Izard co., d. bef 1870. I see there is a John Thomas Gray m. to Elizabeth Chism; also fm Izard co. The five children listed for JTG & EC do not include a Sarah. I'm afraid someone in our line research may have confused JTG for another John Gray and applied all that was known of JTG to JG. Any comments would be very much appreciated. Thank you, Dave.
