I am gathering information on my Chism family that includes, Mary Elizabeth Chism, born Mar 04, 1857, Quincy, Illinois, she is daughter of Levi Hanes Chism, born Oct 17, 1823 in KY, unknown county, but maybe in Grayson Co. if he is son of Gabriel Chism, I have no proof since will of Gabriel is missing at courthouse. There are deeds with Gabriel and also a Robert Chism in Calhoun or Greene Co.Illinois where Levi H. Chism was and during his early married years, he later went to Monroe Co./Audrain Co. Missouri area. Family tales are that Levi had 2 uncles John and Lee who went to Texas, neither uncle married/or was unknown if they did. Gabriel Chism married to Lavina/Melvina (unknown maiden name) who remarried after his death to a Mr. Antrobus. Any help appreciated regarding Levi. Levi had daughters Fanny,who married Ben Drake, Juliette who married Lysander Johnson, sons are Fleetwood Chism in Callaway Co. MO, and sons John and Levi,Jr. went to British Columbia, Canada.
