Thank you for the dates, etc. which I did not have. Now I have a bit more info on the James and Ara Josephine Chisum family. The James Chisum farm was located on Buck creek,Denton County, Texas. All four of James and Ara Josephine's children were born there. The Cow-John Chisum place was on or near Clear creek. It was also referred to as his "Clear Creek Ranch...Sallie L. Chisum born 1861,Denton, Co.Texas. She died Sep 12,1934 in Roswell, Chavez Co, New Mexico, and is buried in South Park Cemetery at Roswell. The cemetery is only a few miles from her uncle's(John Simpson Chisum)south spring ranch. Sallie Chisum and William Robert (of german nationality) were married during the winter of 1880 at Anton Chico, N.M. Sallie, Walter and Willie attended school in 1878-1879 and 1880 in Anton Chico.Walter P. Chisum, born 1863 in Denton Co, Texas went into the sheep raising business and farming. He was heavily involved with the Masonic Lodge. On Nov 15,1887 Walter married Inez V. Simpson. Their children were Jamie W.,Ara V.,and Oscar S.. Walter died Oct 3, 1919 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, while on a lecture tour for the Masonic Lodge. His son, Captain Jamie Chisum, accompanied his body back to Roswell and on Sunday, Oct 13, 1919 he was buried in South Park cemetery, at Roswell, Chavez Co, N.M....William J.(Willie) Chisum born 1865 in Denton Co. Texas, left the Chisum ranch in 1892 and engaged in the Real Estate business in Roswell. On Jul 3,1887 he was married to Lina Tucker in Dodge City, Kansas. On Jul 25 1889 a daughter, "Josephine Branch" was born to them. In 1913 William J. Chisum moved to California where he spent the rest of his life... By 1919 Sallie's sons, John and Fred had matured. Through some misfortune Sallie was called upon to help,or raise, her little grandson William J."Little Bill"Robert. I believe he was Fred's child. In the late 1880's or early 1900.s William Robert left Sallie and the boys. Sometime in the mid'90,s he sent the boys to Germany where they would go to school and receive their education. Sallie married Baldwin G. Stegman (a real-estate promoter/land developer) on Sep 1,1898. Sallie devorced him on 24 Dec 1903 (Chavez Co, N.M. Court records). She requested the restoration of her former name, Sallie L. Robert, which was granted as well as property deeds,etc.cleared.... Both of Sallie's boys, John and Fred were born at the old "Chisum Whitehouse" at Boliver, Denton Co, Texas. Each time when it was near time of birth she went back and had the babies there. It was said she wanted them born on Texas soil. I have no further information on Sallie's children at this time. Lavoyce Winebarger
